We're making up for a rather small population by effectivizing everything to the limit. But we produce mostly deadly munitions, robots, missile systems and the JAS plane, and submarines.. But as far as tanks and small arms, and artillery are concerned, it's 100% germans that rule that area. Belgium and Austria as well to some extent. Americans produce the best in aircraft, they got a headstart like noone after adopting the German Luftwaffe technologies. The delta wing for instance.

yet BAE makes a fortune selling our weapons sure they don't play abba's biggest hits but they are still better then swedish shit

So BAE has no ties what so ever with the Swedish manufacturers HÃ¤gglund and Bofors ?.. Or Rheinmetall.. lol, you might be surprised when you check up on international cooperation with various systems and weaponry. Not to mention jointly owned companies withing the concern.

Actually Karl, the delta wing goes back to 17th century poland.
That isn't why I wanted to comment though. My favorite submachine gun was the Karl Gustov. Beautiful to fire and a beautifully finished piece. While I was working for GM I had my token American car to drive to work but owned a total of 7 Saabs over a period of years starting with a 3 cyl oil injected two cycle red Monte Carlo with sun roof. While going through a period of penny pinching in order to buy my first house, I sold my 911 Porsche and got a new 4-cyl Taunus engined Saab (with sun roof naturally) and drove to watch some friends at an ice race. To make a long story short a friend (the race marshal) insisted I enter the car and just drive it the way I would normally drive it- no racing! Anyhow I ended up taking the fastest time of day beating out several 4 wheel drives that were using TRACTIONIZED tires. An absolutely amazing car on ice.
While we (a buddy & myself) were still rallyeing we used almost exclusively Saabs and even took best times on a major european rallye (His Saab, he drove). HOWEVER as we were unsponsored and not part of any organization, they invented a "special" trophy just for us and instead of giving us any recognition, they gave us a "little" cup (I still have it) that reads: "FIRST PLACE NOVICE"!!!

Really ?, sounds interesting. Do you have any sources to send about that delta wing.

The M/45 was quite fun to shoot, i don't know if i agree about any beauty about it, but it has the same reputation for reliability like the AK. I read that SEAL used it to great extent for a long time. As far as Karl gustaf goes, my favourite weapon would be the 84mm recoilless.

I never said i was proud of it, i just state the facts that i know. I think it's nice knowing though, that we have the technology and capacity to produce some superior hardware. But it's very questionable to sell arms when claiming to be neutral, but that's not the decision or within the power of the people to stop. But there are serious debates about it in this country. One of the points that are a black mark in our book, are all the thousands of landmines that were sold during the 70's i think, which has been used in a number of countries. And they keep killing civilians from wars that has been over for decades... I tend to reserve any pride that i have for things that are worth it, too much pride clouds a persons judgement and critical thinking. And those two i can't do without.

Abba, well i never been much of a fan really. It's like the Beatles, i reckognise both of them as being great and successful but not my cup of tea.

As far as other achivements goes from this country, i'm all to nationally rooted and secure about my own and wordly historical knowledge to care about how people view or reckognise us. Hate us, love us i really don't care, i never had any use for other peoples backslaps.
