Yes, this was fake... But at the same time it should be noted that Jack Russell Terriers are known to be natural conductors of electricity... And most any lengthy literature you read on the Jack Russell breed will include a Warning on the dangers of being in close proximity to a Jack Russell Terrier during a lighting storm...

Carl: "Not a boring moment in this guy's shack." The usage of "SHACK" inclines me to believe that you are an amateur radio operator. This would explain your frequent familiarity with American vernacular that would be normally be lost to a non resident. Am I right????? |

An amateur YDMCO "YDM comment operator" if you may, also an amateur user of english apparently .. And since i didn't know that Shack had a patos of amateuristic radio operator terminology to it, i shall rephrase and say trailer instead |

Carl, you usually do so well in English that I will never criticize your writings which are usually amusing and well spoken. However forgive me if I gently chuckle over the unusual (for you) booboos of your last post. Remember I commented over your familiarity with American vernacular that would be normally be lost to a non resident, so this is to say you do unusually well communicating in a second language. >HOWEVER< (Here comes the velvet hammer) what is "patos?"
As to Amateur Radio (frequently called Ham radio) Yes, I've been a Ham radio operator for years before they started giving them out as Cracker Jack prizes. I had to work hard to pass rigidly controlled tests on Morse code and electronics under direct Federal Communications Commission (FCC) testers, and am damn proud to be called a Ham. I point this out in order to explain the glaring difference between the words amateur and amateuristic.
The word amateur means a non professional. Amateuristic on the other hand (not quite a proper word) would imply incompetence.
As to the word "trailer." I might be a little hesitant In referring it as Mitch's abode, as he might take umbrage to being called "trailer trash" which has some very unsavory connotations to it.
At this point, I wish you 73 (In Morse code it means best regards). NEVER 73'S. That is CB talk. Children's Band language. (actually CB stands for a type of unlicensed radio that was quite popular some years back.)
So, 73, and God bless. Keep up the good work, & keep me laughing or "I keel you." Bob

lmao !!! A trailer ??? Well yea, I live in my trailer when ever I pull it to the beach or the
mountains... But most of the time I live in a
house, just me and my pet fish snot... But
thats not to say that I don't have a few mullet
sporting drinking buddies that live in house
trailers... And I don't know what it is about
these hillbilly peeps around here... They
can't just have one pet, like a dog...
Oh hell no, they have to have a pack
of dogs, like 6 or 8, or a yard full of
chickens... Hell, I got one buddy that
has a hold field full goats... lol...

I do have an old amateur radio here from the 40's - 50's something that sits on my shelf, it's an old Eddystone to be precise, something my dad handed me when he couldn't find any space for it after he cleaned out his workshop.
Anyway.. Actually, i did wait for someone to post something on here, because right after i sent in my last post i realized that my peanut brain had missunderstood what you meant in your last post about the amateur radio thingy.. lmao .. You see i make some bad misstakes in my english from time to time, so instead of really reading through what you said. I thought you meant that shack was a typical word used by amateur radio folks (YES call me a crackhead)
So ironically i made my misstake in my former post instead. As for patos, i guess it's just a strictly swedish word. Which i thought were used in english as well as an alternate word for passion, or feeling (touch of). I was way off with that one lmao ... Let's call it a stab in the dark trying desperetly to seem sophisticated, which instead ended up as accidentilly brutally stabbing myself in the stomach
And the english, it's a second language in sweden taught pretty early on in middle school. So people here have grasped the fundamentals in that language, and from there it varies in quality depending on interests and personal linguistic skills. Most of the english i know stems from movies i watched as a pre-teen\teen, before the internet became really big (i feel old saying that shit). And now, internet keeps my english alive together with movies which i preffere to watch without subtitles. Even if it's british, scottish, irish or aussie or limey flicks
As to the word "trailer." I might be a little hesitant In referring it as Mitch's abode, as he might take umbrage to being called "trailer trash" which has some very unsavory connotations to it."
Yeah i know, i meant to be an ass about it and stereotyping his redneck background just for fun. He seems to take brutal jokes pretty well, which i like in people. I suppose my humour is slightly crude and bizzare that way . But it's decent and nice of you flying the " whooow man" warning flag, in case i should have made a misstake in thinking it was a swell comment using that deragotary trailer term
And im with you on the amateur thingy, i sometimes describe myself as a layman to some people that i know would think "Amateur.. pfft i knew it "

Hahahahaha!
We all have our crosses to bear, being either from a country like mine, or a county like yours we have these damn stereotypes that just doesn't want to go away. Eventually we stop trying to fend ourselves against them, and instead embrace it wholeheartedly with a compassionate smile towards those, that refuses to educate themselves about shit and things .. Am i right or what ? lmfao
Anyway we have our hillbillys too, that seems to go to lengths to molest the language and declare pussies anyone who comes from towns or cities, and there must be a certain truth to that. Because i might add my old man is an old sailor and farmer boy/hillbillyish growing up in the 50's. "Roy orbison and classic chevys, the rest is shit" . Didn't fully grasp his sons interests in philosophy and all that so off to the woods with shotguns. And my mum always said he was rather crude and disordered when she met him, and my norwegian grandmother didn't think highly of her stepson at first . And now he's just an old sweet guy lmao! .. "What the hell happened to your stinking tough image dad ?" - "I moved to the city with your mum son"

Your right Carl, we both have our stereotypes with there multitude of similarities... And we could draw many parallels in our up bringings, and everyday lives... But I still like American Football, and you mates like that regular football, an hockey stuff... And I'm pretty sure we would clash on a bunch of political views, but other than that I guess were pretty much the same...

NO MISTAKE CARL. "Shack" IS a common Ham radio term for the radio room. " I'm just sitting here in my shack having a brown 807." Translated: I'm here in my radio room drinking a beer." (An 807 is a type of radio tube used years back that looks somewhat like a beer bottle) I have an 807 with a brown bakelite base here in my shack, so I can always say I have a brown 807 in front of me.

Because this is their first video camera that they've ever owned, and just like everybody else who buys their first video camera;they video tape every trivial and mundane thing they can. |
