i am not sure how it works in other countries but in the US, you dial 911 and it serves for both police and EMS. when the guy says call the cops, that means 911.

	I think most people should do some research before Posting a retarded comment. Just like BannaMonkey said. In America, There is ONE Number for The Police and Ambulance. But usually Police come too just for back up. Most the time Police make it to the house before the Ambulance anyways. And by the kid saying "call the police"... thats what anyone would do here.
