okay okay - either im being a complete dumbass, or this 'trick' is fucking shit.  He said he was guna 'try and make the coin vanish under the cup'. Well, that didn't happen! If anyone was to do exactly what he did, the audience(or friend, w/e) would lift the paper up and see the coin! wtf? He could make the cup disappear, but not the coin! Anyone agree? |

No it doesnt make sense... You're saying that it's not reasonable to imagine that someone who has english as a second language speak it with accent ?... Mind you that the majority isnt using their english on a daily basis other than in text. As for you, i believe you are in canada which isnt really compareable with most european countries + russia. Some parts speak french in canada, alot speak english on daily basis, i have a buddy in toronto who confirmed that a long fucking time ago.
And i never said everyone speaks it with accent, i said they tend to do it... It all comes down to how often a person makes use of the language verbally. And MOST people who have english as a second language doesnt. |

you can't decide wether it's resonable for someone to have an accent or not you dumb idiots.
If english is not the persons first language, then the person will most likely have an accent when speaking english, no matter how often he speaks english.
Speaking english on a daily basis does not remove your accent. Have you never met people from other countries? Even after many years of living in an english speaking country, they will still have accent. That is a hard thing to get rid off and most people never ever do! |

That was exactly my fucking point (most likely). But all i know is that, with hard work and discipline you can get rid of the accent amazingly well though. There's actors who use the language professionally who have achieved it, and in my country i've stumbled upon one or two immigrants who actually been able to speak swedish well enough to make me doubt they were immigrants... But as i said, they are rare and very few who manage it that well. 99% majority will have accents.

right, ofcourse it is possible for some, but for most people they never will, since they won't hire personal speech trainers.
Many foreign actors that don't have an accent in movies, do have an accent though. They just have trainers that train them right before the takes, for the lines they say. |
