I dont hate microsoft i just dislike them because of there buisness practices which are questionable at best. the fact of the matter is that they move into diferent sectors of IT and get the monopoly on them by bankroling that department whith money from the OS department even making losses on the product they are trying to monopolise to push smaller companies into the red.like they are currently doing in the console market. The UK and other european countries actualy introdused new laws to prevent some of microsofts antics like this. |

Microsoft has the best operating systems in the world... And yes, they have pretty much successfully monopolized the market... Yes, they have made shit loads of money.. There by, allowing Gates to hire only the best computer minds in the world... Maybe its not right, but I don't think we would have ever come this far this fast any other way... God bless America and our fucked up system... lol... |

Unix or Linux are more dependable, but I don't find them to be very user friendly... And that is a very big part of any OS... |

They've gone through alot of trial and error during the years, the latest linux distributions are VERY userfriendly. Put the disc in, boot up, follow the instructions. And done... The GUI is basically windows layout, only far better and nicer looking.
It still takes some skills to handle the Linux OS's no doubt, but it's worth the sweat and tears... Crashes are so minimal it's not worth mentioning, no more viruses. No more defragging disks, and the system resources isn't eaten up by the OS, which significantly reduces the need to upgrade your machine to run it smoothly... Programs requires less from the system.. and so forth. |

lol, Well the way you jumped on my comment,[ I just left the room for a few minutes] I can see you feel very strongly about this position.... "Jumped on" lol, you make it sound so bad... I dont really feel all that strongly for it as it might sound. Im no linux guru or anything, i've just played around with it some. Explored it's potential and gotten hooked on how great it is, it doesn't feel so confined as windows. And it's free .. It's not like i have a grudge against people using windows, i just disagree it's best........................ Okay!!! So i jumped on your comment with a meatcleaver! got a problem with that

Microsoft sucks balls. Of the three big operating systems Windows is the worst. Hands down the worst. But I guess if you don't mind having a buggy computer that rarely works correctly and quickly deteriorates, than enjoy! For me I'll stick with OS X and Linux.
And to all the morons still using IE and netscape....you might want to try Firefox, Opera, or ANYTHING else. |

Another Mac user sat happily in their closet
Microsoft have done more for the hardware market than any other single company. In the days of the 8086/286 Intel made the bits and the software people had to work around the limitations, DOS 1 2 3 etc. Then Mr Gates signed a deal with Intel and a few others so that they would develop ways of adding the massive processing power and codec info required to run his new software so he pumped millions into the design and development of the new era of PCs. This unfortunately pushed out the independants trying to make their way with total package PCs (IBM,CBI) and just left Microsoft ruling the roost on PC architecture with Apple getting dragged along for the ride as the "alternative" but now people are pissed off with MS clawing their way into everything and like the petulent children we are, we bite the hand that feeds us and move to Linux and start to grow another monster.
But who gives a fuck? I used to be able to suck my own cock, but thing change. |
