Smart idea, especially under that type of pressure. However,"the cruiser actually saves her life" when the bullet hole appeared in the windscreen was bollocks. **Yeah sure, the glass the stop the bullet.** sarcasm. Anywho, i agree, give her a medal.  |

It is an act of bravoury indeed. But! she also brings the lives of the other traffic participants in danger.
he is armed and dangerous and shoots whenever he sees a cop. he could easily miss and shoot an innocent civillian.
then again, if she didn't chase the guy, there would be an dangerous idiot on the loose. so lets just say that everything worked out well and the lady deserves a medal !  |

the glass did save her life. a bullet can change direction from hitting things as simple as cloth or even leaves in a forest. if youve ever seen slomotion of a card being split in two by a bullet, the bullet usually ends up in a different direction and starts to tumble. so i would assume solid glass whould do lots more when it comes to a bullets speed and direction.  |

Fucking idiotic cripples, why on earth give her a medal? Many officers do amazing things everyday and get nothing for it, it comes with the territory, high risk, low pay. Dont think any more of her cos shes female.... An amazing act of bravery and smarts yes, but get a clue, medals are far an inbetween for these everyday heroes.  |

its the same with the cops who where fighting on the video with the pissed off AK-47 guy if you can stand up to a assault rifle with a pistol and no Kevlar
then you need something to distinguish you from the rest it doesn't mater if shes a woman or a man
the only thing i would have said is that she could have kept a distance until backup arrives because if he did kill her it would let him escape  |

Leaves and cloth will most likely not change the path of a bullet, unless it's thick cloth or several layers of it. Twigs in a forrest can change the path though... But it all depends mostly on what kind of bullet it is, weight and speed, and most importantly in which angle the bullet hits the target... The card trick is quite natural though, the side of a card holds much resistance and is generally made of quite tough paper with a coating. But if you fired for instance a 7.62 dead on the side, it would most likely not change the path (That is an educated guess)

Do you really think this type of action from a lonely cop is an everyday event ?, most would call for backup and just follow the criminal till they arrive, which is procedure. But she decided to take action on her own account and risking her life in the process. And she did one hell of a job in my book, and a medal is worth it because she shot that motherfucker who deserved it. And it doesnt matter if it's a man or woman to me, even if one should admit that it's not everyday you see a female cop in these circumstances. But a cop is a cop regardless of sex, which you can see in the video. |

| Props to her having a good eye and a hell of a lot of bravery. Though, a gun fight in public is very dangerous and very risky. Not only can you missfire, but the suspect firing at you obviously has no respect for life and isn't trying to avoid hitting innocent targets. But it's hard to say what's the best decision in a moment like that. Usually waiting for backup would be the best choice. As RobYDMfan mentioned, if he downed her then it'd be easier for him to escape. But maybe if she did wait for backup he could've started shooting at random bystanders... maybe. I guess you just go with your gut decision. |

so a call goes out that some madman with a gun is heading in such a direction...she happens to be the one who bumps into him ..he starts shooting at her...she ducks down to avoid being shot in the head...she slides across the seats and gets out the other side as she cant really drive with her head ducked down as she may kill someone...then the robber gets out his car and continous to shoot at her...she hides behind the car and in desperatation shoots back as she knows she will die if she doesnt kill him....1 lucky shot and he goes down...yes i say lucky as u seen the way she was moving around and ducking...cant really get an accurate shot like that .
wouldn't anybody have done the same ?
