How could someone possibly go so slow as to rob and beat an old lady? This is quite shocking and disturbing to say the least. There's not enough justice in the world for this guy to get what he deserves.

Well the rest of the world doesnt have so much immigrants in their countries as U.S and Europe does that there's any foundation for racism to spread. Besides that, not all countries in europe have done much unprovoked injustices to other people. Many have but not all. Primarily England, France, Germany and the dutch when it comes to colonies and slave trade.

And looking at how the world looked back then, it's not so simple to pass judgement on it through the modern eyes. It wasen't as simple as 1-2-3... The africans were treated like they were because of the extreme difference in social lifestyle, and lack of technological progress simillar to the europeans. And then you have the national romance back then as well, which pretty much painted up the picture of the civilized west as being the centre of the world... If you grew up back then, taking and selling slaves would be natural for you like owning cows or horses... The american indians were treated the same. And most of the injustices towards other people can actually be blamed on the church. They were the worst, since they gave people the devine right to steal, lie, kill.. Basically do anything to people that weren't christians.

You see the same mentality today with muslims and jews in the middle east. Especially the jews with their Talmud scripture, which basically states outright that.. "non-jews were created to serve jews as slaves" - (Midrasch Talpioth 225)

With scriptures and teachings like those, racism is bound to happen within it's religious followers... And Talmud was one of the reason why the nazis treated the jews the harsh way they did... Nothing is easily explained by just looking at the surface, one has to dig down much deeper to learn the truth to many injustices and happenings.
