Being gay is only a small aspect of a person. Everyone has different sexual preferences(ex: a certain type of woman etc..) within their labeled sexual orientation(Gay, straight, bi) and we only have three labels because it makes it easier to differentiate between what's ok and what's not. Christians have no basis for their discrimination except for the fact that it makes them uncomfortable. Scientific research shows that different species of monkey's and such don't discriminate when it comes to mating for pleasure and there is no study that shows that homosexuals are any better or worse parents, employees or overall people than straight men. Christians base their beliefs on NOTHING and to label someone simply for something that could never define them is not only wrong but kinda stupid. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen  |

This is one of the reasons that I avoid religious discussions and remain agnostic. This woman’s beliefs, no matter how deluded, are based on her interpretation of the bible and the word of her God. There is no reason that she should not believe what she does as each major religion has based its ethos on the same book and yet are so different in their understanding of it. Her actions should be branded morally wrong but her beliefs should not be questioned, especially by those who believe what their padre, preacher, priest, rabbi or sheikh tells them on a Sunday morning. |

You hit the nail on the head. Beliefs are very important to everybody and religion is something to admire in all those that have found it. My mother in law has lost her husband, son and daughter (my wife). That would fuck most people up royally but because she believes that they are in a place that she will eventually be herself, she has been able to carry on with her life.
Everybody believes in something. Whether it be God, aliens or like me, good friends, helping people where I can and having a few pints on a Friday night to celebrate another week of life. Its all good.

C'mon guys, end your feud. Homosexuality is a choice, you can change it, as you change any other preference in your life (some years ago I loved Hockey, ask me now). Anyway, there's a psychotic conduct in some (and I mean some) homosexuals, some of them are deluded and think that they're women (or men, in the case of girls). That is clearly a mental disorder. you can have any preference you want, but you cannot deny your gender, nor change it. And if we look nature, monkeys and other animals may have homosexual conducts but, have you ever seen a male monkey who thinks he's a female?.

It is people like this that make me ashamed of my faith at times. Because it is these people that speak the loudest and get the most attention in media, and in daily life. This makes me cringe when I see someone staring at the cross around my neck, and reluctant to admit to being born again. I would love to sit down with this woman and show her the verses in the Bible that she's overlooking. Like "Love thy neighbor as thyself." And Jesus explains that this means EVERYONE. I have many homosexual and bisexual friends. I myself used to be bisexual (yes, sexuality is a choice. I chose to be bisexual, and chose to become straight). I think no less of them for that, and, in fact, love them the same. I have many friends who are pagan, Jewish, Catholic, what have you. I still love them all. And when we butt heads, I still love them. That is what the love of Jesus has done for me. The problem with these people is that they don't show that love. What they have to say is "If you do this, you're going to hell. If you don't do this our way, you're going to hell." That is absurd.
I found it especially amusing when she was asked what her sins were, and she refused to answer. Perhaps she missed the verse in the Bible that clearly states, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Don't tell me you're perfect people, out to warn your neighbors, for Jesus also taught to help your neighbor through love, not hate.
I ask that everyone please disregard this woman's view on Christianity. I'm not saying that my view is the only one, but I'm saying that I have a Bible in hand, and that I know the promises of God. Jesus made it very easy to make it into Heaven. Accept that He is the son of God, and receive the love He has shown and distributed, and reciprocate that. Admit that you have your sins (we all do) and apologize. THAT'S IT!! You don't have to live this assnine life where you do nothing but praise God all day, and sing Hallelujia for no particular reason. Christians still sin, and make mistakes just like anyone. But when you know the love of Jesus, and when you feel the joy in your heart, it's that joy that propells you to love, and to want to draw closer to God, and to spread His word. This church seems to spread His word based on hate.
I pray that someone finds this church and sits them down to explain the Bible. To point out what they seemed to have missed (like the New Testament). And I pray that people who want to believe this open their Bibles to all the verses of love, and reciprocate that.

There's a quote, though I forget who said it, that states "More people have been killed in the name of God, than by any other name." Think the Crusades. And I'm fully aware of that. Religion is something that people can use as an excuse to manipulate, lie and control. I'm fully aware of how many times the Bible has been rewritten, which is why I remain skeptical about some of the passages in there. But I do believe that Jesus died on the cross for me. And I do believe in Adam and Eve. Who are you to say that the God who created life could not turn water to wine? And if religion is so outdated, then why do over 50 million people claim to be born again? The fact remains that Christianity is still one of the major religions of the world, and religion itself is prominant in EVERY society, Christianity or not. Religion will never be outdated.
The fact remains that there are Christians out there that enjoy the love they receive from God, and the love they can reciprocate to other people. Not all Christians hate as much as the people in this video clip do. I know that people despise me for what I believe, but I also know that it's people like the ones on the screen, protesting this and that, preaching fire and brimstone, and those that use religion as a justification for immoral actions, that ruin it for the rest of us. I'm not going to stand on the street corner and tell you that you're going to hell, and I would never EVER thank God for the death of anyone.
The problem with most people is that they take what the Bible says too litterally. They forget that it was written for a society over 4000 years ago, that was forced to believe through fear. The whole, "If you do this, you will be cut off from your people and put to death" kick, was a scare tactic. It's the kind of thing that's been implimented by MANY religions in countries that use it to maintain control over a population. In this day in age, we don't need that control. But we do need that love. This isn't about hating someone who doesn't believe what you do. I know that probably out of all the commenters on this page, and on this website, maybe a small handful of you agree with me. Maybe none at all. And that's fine. I'm aware that not everyone believes what I do. But I'm not going to parade a bunch of signs around telling you that you're going to hell for not obeying my God.
Religion is not dead. But the manipulation of religion should be. |

And I will not ever believe like you do because I'm not that naive to live my life by the rules of a made up story
finally I want to point out that I don't have kind of hate feelings against relegion and people should be allowed to make their own choices wrong or right. |

First point: your are not mocked in any form what so ever. At least not by me.

Sonja I completely agree with everything you are saying..
the only thing that makes it so hard to show what we (what you have already said) believe...is that people take the words of the Bible or even points we make from the Bible and slur them into something that they are not.
people focus way too much on how controlling they think religion and christianity is(which it is not at all) and dont focus on all the love that God has for us and wants us to show to others.
it is so hard to get people to understand that.
THis lady is a perfect example of how someone takes the word of God and makes into something that it is not, and her view is a terrible view, especially in a time of war like this. |
