Here's an example of why we sometimes can't put all our faith into technology.

| WHAT??? This video is wrong! That was not a unmanned plane. Ive heard the actual voice recording on board. The stick or flaps got stuck and he couldnt get the plane to go down or up. I can remember the co-pilot saying "youre gonna miss the runway!" then "SH!T!!" and they crashed. |

Incorrect voice-over:

t_296
130 passengers and 6 crew were aboard for a low-pass maneuver that went wrong - 3 passengers died in ensuing fire. Pilot jailed for 6 months.
Although I have heard somewhere that it was a problem with the autothrottle sticking. |

| my info is that they were real showoffs and tried to show some incredible low flying but they went too far. they pulled up but the airbus aircraft dont pull more than they can automaticly. so they went straight ahaed, otherways they wouldve gotten into stall, not good either... so its not an airbus oder fly by wire but an ordinary human failure |

| The lesson here is don't fly in an Airbus! I am an aircraft/aviation nut who has an interest in shit like this and have an EXTENSIVE collection of crash footage. I have in my collection 3 movie clips of this same crash with TOTALLY DIFFERENT explinations/stories as to why the plane goes down. The real reason is that the Airbus is a fly by wire computer controlled death machine. This plane crashed at an airshow. After the plane was finished it's flyby's it tried to land and the on-board computer decided that it didn't want to, and flew the plane into the trees. The plane had 3 people on board. The Airbus aircraft have had other crashes resulting in near disaster and disaster as a result of on-board computer failure. In every example the pilots (those lucky enough to live to tell....) said they simply lost control of the aircraft to the computer. In some cases, the good ones, the pilots were able to re-gain control, and in the bad cases, like this one, the planes have crashed......so as I said, don't fly in an Airbus!! |

Actually, the pilot was trying to test and show the people on board how the ALPHA FLOOR Protection technology worked. Alpha Floor protection is an automated crash deterent system that prevents the aircraft from crashing to the ground. When a stall is detected the Auto Throttle automatically commands full-thrust of the engines to get the plane out of the stall. The pilot here was inexperienced and didn't know that Alpha Floor protection doesn't work with the landing gear down and below 100 feet because the computer is in landing phase which allows the fly-by-wire to have direct imputs to all surface controls. In the end, the pilot was charged/convicted of manslaughter.
Cyclepath, if the pilots were trained correctly they would know to Press the Autopilot and Auto throttle disconnect buttons, and they would have full manual control of the plane. Same way with all other aircraft. Also, if airbuses are flying death machines, they wouldn't be flying right now. |

Hmmm, I read this "According to French Law, the Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder are to be immediately retrieved by the police in the event of an aircraft accident. However, the recorders were taken by the civil aviation authorities and held for 10 days until they were finally confiscated. When the recorders were returned, they had been physically opened and the magnetic tape tampered with. 8 seconds of tape was removed, including the 4 seconds immediately prior to the crash, and the voice recorder and data recorder were 4 seconds out of sync at the time of the crash. This has led to allegations that the flight data recorder was seriously tampered with, or even replaced." So whats that all about ??? |
