Sopie, you're very smart.. but I don't follow the same moral path. I look at the big picture, I stand back and watch everything that happends.. I'm not for or against anyone at all. This whole political situation is like a sport, its like a gloryfied football game. you have your offence which is the press and your defence which is bush, and we the people are the football, and the US Justice system is the umpier(SP?). Bush is the coach of one team and the news media is the coach of the other team and they are both trying to get the ball, we the people, to each of there sides. Everytime a person hears or reads or happends past something somewhere that is anti-bush then the press got a little closer to a touch down.. this video was prolly a touch down for the press or anyone anti-bush. and like football.. they are all playing for 1 thing, Money. but back to the matter at hand. I'm not for nor against any team. I get all information and form my own opinion.. once you hear something anti-bush, its that much easier to start leaning toward being anti-bush. I don't care what the presedent's doing.. I accually can't stand any of it. people need to stop watching the game and wake the fuck up and realize what is going on now.. they have over 22 hundred dead kids out there in a desert on the other side of the fucking world. Why do you think Bush got re-elected? Because AMERICANS are big-headed and want to be the best at everything. We (because I am an American as well) like to rush into things in hopes of just having the title of "winner." We want other countries to FEAR us (bombing Iraq) as well as RESPECT our authority (trying to "free" Iraqis) at the same time in hopes of being the top dog.
Of course it's a game now. I fear for the country's future because I have no idea what's going to happen after Bush's term in office is over. I hope that the next president doesn't feel the same way as Bush! It'd be terrible!
I agree, again, about the whole lying to public. America is infamous for lying to their own people so they can manipulate the minds of the public. They say they killed 2,238 "terrorists" and fail to mention the even greater amount of innocent lives that were taken in the process. They are only concerned with pumping Americans with hate for the "enemy" and boost morale for the "good guys."
That being said, why does it not seem possible that the American government lies to the public to take ADVANTAGE of them as well?
Perfect example: The "high alert" color chart that was shown in this video. Bush took advantage of the public's fear and conned thousands of U.S. civilians to join the Armed Forces to "fight the enemy."
I try not to have a left or right view about the entire situation, either. But I'll be damned if ONE side doesn't look WAY more convincing than the other.  |

But I don't condone the war on Muslims in the Middle East. I couldn't care any less about some raghead in a sand pit crying over his dead family. It’s not important at the end of the day. However, what is important is the security of the majority. I am agnostic, I have no interest in religion and I don’t agree with how is forced into every ones life and acts as a code of conduct. People aren't stupid and don't need a greater power to guide them. That is stupid. Islam and other major religions have been fighting and causing problems for thousands of years.
Everyone says this war was all about all oil and creating one global market controlled by America. What difference does it make? I would imagine we only see a thin slither of what really is going on in are own countries let alone Iraq.
Has Japan turned out that bad since WW2? Don’t forget America helped rebuild Japan and it’s economy after they nuked them. So who really loses a generation or two down the road of time in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe Japan and WW2 were slightly different but at the end of the day the rebuilding of a nation full of extremist isn’t a bad thing in the long run.
I do agree that the current American administration needs to be removed and restructured but the war in the Middle East is a worth while endeavour in my opinion. Unfortunately some of the most stupid and brainwashed people on the planet are trying to fight some of the most brainwashed and socially conditioned people in the world. |

I've heard so many "real facts" and "truths" about the war in Iraq, that I don't know, nor do I care what the truth really is anymore. "Bush knew" "Bush was the cause" "Al Quaida did it" "They had nuclear weapons.
I could go on.
The only current fact is that American troops are currently occupying Iraq. Personally, I'm not even sure how I feel about that. You hear in the media that the people there greet us with tearful eyes, and words of thanks, and you hear about another suicide bombing every other day. If I were president, I don't know what I'd do. But thankfully, I'm not the president so I don't have to worry about it. Bush, however, does. And regardless of where we are, or what we're doing, Bush is still our president. I'm sure all this trash that's being spouted to his face and behind his back doesn't help him to make decisions. Then again, in the clip he claims that he's not good thinking on his feet, which I believe is an important trait to have as the President of the United States.
What I will not do is accuse groups of people based on their political views (democrats, republicans, etc) because of a republican president, and opposing democratic viewpoints. Not all of them have the same opinions. Personally, I'm a moderate, though I have had the tendency to fall on the conservative side of political issues at times. Regardless, I've heard enough about 9/11 to last me a lifetime, whatever the reasons. |

I am a Canadian who does not have too much good to say about americans, but I must say that some of what I read here puts a small amount of faith back into me that not all americans are fucked. I hope Juba the sniper (156+ soldiers, 6+ officers, 5+ enemy snipers(american snipers) at last count) gets his passport approved so he can go to Washington for his vacation. Pres. Maybe you guys don't know but it was America who engendered fascist and radical Islam in 1953 by overthrowing the democratically elected Iranian president, then the American Government of the day armed and financed a group of essentially violent anti-establishment hooligans to murder the rest of the Democratic Iranian Government...this was done due to Iran's border with Russia..a perfect place to spy on russian activity and store missiles...this behaviour by Uncle Sam led to anti-American feeling in the Middle-East and was a factor in creating radical Islam..America has been at the centre of so many atrocities that have been conveniently overlooked or forgotten..If only the CIA made public their files I am sure we would know who the world's villain really is.. |

Iraq is a incredibly old country ancient it comprises of lots of small empires that got eaten up by each other now in the north there is a people called Kurds
they were a old country that now lies in between Iraq Iran turkey and Syria called Kurdistan
they are not Arabs nor are they Turks or Persians
they are Kurds now under Saddam they where treated above average because they were quite rebellious sadly for the rest of Iraq Kurds are siting on a lot of oil... the us helped the Kurds by occupying air in the north.
ok that's the Kurds
in the war of Iraq & Iran they (Kurds) sided with the iranis in the war (u see what I'm getting too) America armed Iraq with WMD's so that Iraq could defend the middle east which Iran calls their own
Kurds rebel and officially are a lost province ....
one thing you all should know More than 35,000 people have died in the Kurdish conflict since 1984.( o not the Iraqi Kurds but Turkish Kurds)
why does no one care about the Kurds in turkey huh?
short Iraq facts:
only 20% of Iraqi oil reserves have been drilled by Saddam.
Iraqi crude oil can be split in two 1 crude barrel = 2.
bush lied about the WMD's.
there was a embargo especially designed to stop him from appearing Nukes or WMD.
the sanctions worked.
