This guy designed a pair of boots with a jet strapped to each one and goes for a fly.

Erm... not exactly rocket boots. A rocket rngine is a solid state fuel cell, that is ingnited by chemical reaction. Producing a hissing sound, not a squealing sound. It's exhaust is simply bleach.
What we have here are in fact, jet boots. A fanned turbine engine, fuelled by kerosene or, indeed, diesal. The exhaust being mainly carbon-monoxide glutomate.
These babies would produce about 2 grammes of thrust. Hardly daring if you ask me.
Although, as he is my neighbour, I shouldn't really knock him. |

I was waiting for that last line.
But in all honesty, I can't even tell that he used the darn boots. It just looked like a regular skydive. |

| When he hit throttle, he quickly flew away from the photographer. Check out the horizontal speed he got. It surely looked like more than 2 grams of thrust. |
