I've had both pepper spray and mace. Pepper spray is not as bad as mace. You get maced, you will have snot hanging down to your nuts. That stuff is bad.  |

| The question is, which one has the longest effect... i remember the mace in the army, and that one has a concentration that the civilians could only pray for during a knife fight. |

Mace is chemical and the effects are more mild. Pepper spray is made up of oleroresincapsicum - cheyenne pepper minced in an oil base.
The effect it has on people doesn't rely on will power, it is an inflammatory. The people that are affected by it have either larger pores - that's how it gets in, or the pores they have are more open due to heat, excersise, etc. It's nothing you can "will" yourself out of. You'll either be affected or not.
The pepper involontarirly slams the eylids shut and constricts the esophogus. It's the absolute worst pain I've ever encountered in my life. I've been tazed, had broken bones, etc. But pepper spray was the worst.
training can suck - especially since before you get sprayed, you have a two hour class on how it affects the human body - it's like fucking torture. |

i've felt the effects of mace, in the grenade form... it was shot into the crowd during riot when hooligans were holding the main square... it made me immediatly run the other way.. it was quite potent.. but relieves quickly.. like 2 minutes..
oh and kidcrenshaw, nobody here like police officers, and we all hope you get shot to death by a tryin to run because of 2 strikes and a bag of drugs in his pocket... to death i tell ya.. |
