I without knowing anything about dog training I taught our Bichon Frise to count (by barking) to 25- forwards, backwards, or random numbers. He responds to either one handed sign or verbal command. The amazing part is that he actually understands the concept. He'll count treats If I have him start at 1, then ask: "what comes next." This morning I had some little pieces of leftover chicken, and broke it up into 20 pieces. He counted them all, only losing his place once.
It's different having a dog smarter than I am. |
